Home Business Savings & Credit Cooperative Society Limited is a member‑based financial institution dedicated to uplifting the economic well‑being of our members through savings, affordable credit, and capacity building. We are registered under the Co‑operative Societies Act and regulated by the SASRA.
A group of friends came together to form a welfare organization aimed at supporting one another.
The welfare group was formally registered as Ndunyu Self Help Group. Members started by contributing Kshs. 5/- every day.
Due to continued growth in membership, savings portfolio, loans portfolio and associated risks and legal restrictions limiting self‑help groups’ membership, the group was advised to transform to a SACCO.
In the Annual General Meeting, the group resolved to convert to a SACCO registered as Home Business Savings & Credit Cooperative Society Limited.
Formal application for registration was made in September 2011 and the registration certificate was issued in November 2011.
In March 2012, members’ shares in Ndunyu Self-help Group were transferred to Home Business SACCO. In October of the same year, members resolved to allow the Management Committee to prepare the ground for FOSA operations.
